THE IMPORTANCE OF SURVEYS
Over the years the surveys have grown in importance in Guernsey as people have begun to recognise the value of listening to the views of young people. In particular they have been important for the following reasons:
• The surveys have established an evidence-base that is grounded in fact not anecdote
• Everyone who works with young people can look at the findings and think about how they might want to develop their work to meet the needs of those young people as identified by the survey
• The survey is a very effective method of giving young people a voice. Over 2000 young people answered up to 100 questions each in the survey.
