WHY WE NEED TO FIND OUT WHAT YOUNG PEOPLE THINK
The Policy Council publication ‘Guernsey Facts and Figures 2007’ indicates that there are 13,376 young people under the age of 19 years in Guernsey. That represents 21% of the Island’s population.
There is expected to be a decrease in the Island’s fertility rate at the same time as an ageing population in Guernsey. This means that there will be a growing population of old people. Young people, therefore, will become an even greater proportion of the population
Young people have very clear views on their lives and appreciate the opportunity to articulate those views.
